‘Nalamaana Tamizhagam' project

Diabetes centres to collaborate with State for ‘Nalamaana Tamizhagam' project
Honour: Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin felicitating V. Mohan, director, MDRF, in Chennai recently.
Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre and the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation will collaborate with the government of Tamil Nadu to implement the ‘Nalamaana Tamizhagam' project.
The project envisages screening 2 crore people in Tamil Nadu for hypertension and diabetes.
In this context, the Indian Diabetes Risk Score (IDRS) developed by the MDRF will be used by the State to identify individuals at high risk of diabetes and hypertension throughout the State.
V. Mohan, director, MDRF, was recently honoured by Deputy Chief Minster M.K. Stalin at a function for spearheading the State's involvement in the programme.
